Biltmore Resort & Spa
The resort:
The
Biltmore resort and the Old Adobe golf course were built in 1930,
when the city was at several kilometres away. At the moment, they
are surrounded by the city and Biltmore became a ' urban oasis
'.
Worldwide known as being " the Jewel of the Desert ",
this resort is a real oasis of approximately 15 hectares, covered
with green gardens, twinkling swimming pools. Situated in the
heart of Phoenix, the Biltmore resort was, throughout its history,
a favourite destination for famous people and for the presidents
of the US.
In an architecture inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, the resort
offers at disposal 734 luxurious and comfortable rooms, elegantly
decorated in pleasant beige tints and full equipped.
The golf :
The
resort is situated near numerous international golf courses, among
which the both golf courses of the Arizona Biltmore Country
Club which is close to the resort.
The Links: drawn by Bill Johnston and created
in 1979, it is the youngest golf course of the club that nevertheless
gained quickly the respect of numerous golfers. It possesses wave-like
fairways lined with magnificent pines, with greens well kept by
the bunkers which ask for precision in the shot.
Adobe: the oldest golf course of the club drawn
by William P. Bell, it is considered as being an ancestor of modern
design. It offers a simple beauty, difficult to find in a region
where the architecture of a golf course has to contain some '
magic tours '. If you look for a round which is at the same time
a moment of relaxation and a challenge, you cannot find better.
A golf course of putting 18 holes which was drawn
by Graham-Panks International is at disposal for golfers who wish
to train.

Club
West Golf Club
The
golf course of the club, which was drawn by Ken Cavanaugh and
Brian Whitcome, opened in 1993. Classified in the Top 20 of the
golf courses of Arizona by numerous magazines, this golf course
of a desert style twists at the feet of the hills of the Sonoran
desert. It spreads out on 6400 meters length and offers a big
variety of holes. Every hole distinguishes itself by a subtle
change of rise which is highlighted by the fact that there are
few continuous fairways. Although it is near the city, the club
leads us far from the stress of the city life. The beauty and
the serenity the place indeed allows to relax and offers an exceptional
experience of golf. In front of a magnificent sight on the lake
of the club and on the Sonoran desert, the club house offers at
disposal all the services that we could find in a quality club.

Dove
Valley Ranch Golf Club
The
international golf course 18 holes was drawn by the famous architect
Robert Tren Jones Jr. Spreading out on 6309 meters of pure golfic
challenge, it twists between the spectacular panoramic points
of view and the fields covered with vegetation. Given the very
hot summers in Phoenix, most of the golf courses have fields damaged
by the sun and the heat. But it is not the case in Dove Valley
that maintains its fairways and its greens in great conditions,
better than certain golfs even private. The club house offers
at disposal a snack bar, pro shop, training field and golf lessons.

Estrella
Mountain Ranch Golf Club
The
club offers a game full of challenges in the heart of the breathless
beauty of the desert. Fairways flaps along the natural outlines
of the landscape, whereas the high tees reveal magnificent points
of view on the Estrella mountains. Drawn by Jack Nicklaus II,
among whom it is the first golf course in Arizona, Estrella possesses
a difficult arrangement but forgives the errors and the always
spectacular design. As he wanted that the players use all their
clubs, we can say that it is a golf course which offers of variety.
Possessing several departures, he adapts itself to any level players.
The clubhouse offers at disposal wardrobes, lounge, pro shop,
training area and golf lessons.

The resort:
Situated
in the heart of the Sonoran desert, it is the most recent and
biggest luxury resort in Arizona. It offers at disposal 868 rooms
among which 82 suites, all full equipped and possessing a patio
or a private balcony with magnificent points of view on the flowery
gardens, the swimming pools, the lakes, the golf or the mountains.

The golf:
Both
international golf courses 18 holes situated in the dry Sonoran
desert possessing each their own personality.
The first one, signed Arnold Palmer, offers a scenic golf experience
and very playable. The wide fairways allow players to stay in
game after an error of shot. Bunkers are magnificent and the putting
greens are wave-like, as most of the designs of Arnold Palmer.
The second golf course is signed Faldo, situated on a 70 hectare
field, offers a light variation of the characteristic golf courses
of the desert. It contains generous fairways, greens and spacious
and green tee boxes. The environment composed by mountains, hundred-years-old
cactus, of a big number of bunkers, which evokes the Australian
golf courses, brings an exceptional context to the golf as well
as to golfers who come to play.

Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort
The resort:
Situated
in front of the spectacular view on the valley, the resort is
composed by a village of a European style highlighted by the presence
of the luxuriant gardens, the fountains and the water cascades.

Lookout Mountain Golf Club:
The
international golf course 18 holes Par-72 was drawn by Bill Johnston
and created in 1989. Containing green greens alternating with

It was classified among the 450th best public golf courses of
the country by Golf Digest and among the 25th best golf courses
in the State of Arizona. It welcomed famous events such as the
Harmon Killebrew Invitational, Royce Clayton Charity Classic and
the Phoenix Suns Scramble. The club house offers at disposal his
restaurant and snack bar, its pro shop which was classified in
the Top 100 of the pro shops of the country, a driving tange on

Raven
Golf Club at South Mountain
In
the club of Raven, the service is first class, as well as the
golf. Drawn by David Graham and Gary Panks, the golf course which
does not possess the characteristic style of the desert, has a
length from 5266 to 6472 meters, according to the departures.
Indeed, it proposes four different departures. Holes which are
rather difficult, are however playable and offer a big variety
of approaches. Every hole possesses his own personality with its
risks and its rewards. Greens are wide and well kept. Fairways,
rippling, are lined with a big variety of trees among which old
magnificent pines. By having combining a great design, rigorous
game conditions and a remarkable sense of the service, the club
distinguishes itself year after year as being one of the best
golfic experience in Arizona.

North Golf Club
Troon
North, who is held at the feet of Pinnacle Peaks, is considered
as being the reference in golf experience in the desert. It extends
through natural ravines and hills at the top desert of Sonoran.
This strikingly maintained golf offers at disposal two golf courses:
Monument and Pinnacle.
The Monument golf course, which
was drawn by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish and opened in 1990,
is considered as the best of the two golf courses. It is classified
in the Top 100 of the golf courses in the USA by Golf Digest Magazine.
Situated on a spectacular site, it offers a real experience of
golf in the desert, in all the meanings of the term.
The
Pinnacle golf course, only drawn by Weiskopf
and opened since 1995, quickly gained its reputation for its excellence.
Numerous golfers consider it as a more difficult test than the
other older golf course. Pinnacle indeed represents a surprising
golf experience full of challenges, embeded in the natural beauty
of the desert. Certain parts of the fairways are hidden behind
cliffs and hills. The wide greens are surrounded by big bunkers
and the field which is tilted challenge golfers whatever is their
approach.
