Carnoustie Golf Links
The Golf was practised at Carnoustie
well before Christophe Colomb discovered America. It is one of
the oldest courses of the world. In the course of the years, it
welcomed the most important players and acquired the reputation
to constitute a good hability test. A lot of golfers of the region
left to teach or to practise golf worldwide. In 1926 their names
were already registered in National Open Trophies of seven different
countries, including England and America. Most of these names
are now a part of the golf history.
Carnoustie Golf Club was created in 1842 by Allan Robertson, Tom
Morris and James Braid.
Carnoustie Championship Course
It is considered by a lot of players including Wakter Hagen and
Gary Player as one of the best Links of the world. Although it
is a rather long course, it is not made for the player who is
going to knock hardly without thinking. With an estimation of
the wind and the critical distance, every · shot tee ·
requires a sensible investment to approach the green. After 15
prestigious holes, the novice player is always prepared for the
most difficult final.
Green fee from 41 £
Burnside Course
Of both courses, Burnside is indubitably the most known,
for having welcomed the qualifications of the Open. It is the
real Links course that puts in challenge while being fun at the
same time.
Fairways are narrow and waved, the strategically placed bunkers
and the relatively small greens. This configuration is one of
the particular characteristics of Carnoustie. By adding the constantly
present wind, you are in front of a more difficult course than
what shows the score card.

The Buddon Links Course
This course begins parallel to the international course which
is neighboring and continues along the outside edge, looking onto
all the Carnoustie course.
Opened 20 years ago, having been conceived on a ground acquired
by the Ministry of the defence, it received a mitigated reception
on behalf of the local players. Since this time, the natural change
of the ground plus an improvement of the course helped to be appreciated
and since it became popular.

The The
West Links course was initially a 6 holes. Before it became a
18 holes, in 1877 a 7th hole was added. In 1895 the course was
widened. At the moment it does not appear among the longest but
its asks on the other hand for a lot of fitness. The course was
described as resulting from a primitive age, because in its previous
history the game was not the same. Indeed, in 1848 it had been
invented the gutta - percha. West Links, which is a big antiquity,
has its place among the special group of the courses which evolved
essentially in a natural way.
It is considered for being the most old 13th
golf of the world. Situated in the seaside, its raw character,
nevertheless subtle, does not miss to turn the game stimulating
