SPAIN: Costa Brava
Placed
on the heights of the Les Gavarres hills, at 300 metres above
the sea, the golf offers a magnificent panoramic sight on the
surrounding campaign. Built in 1990 and drawn by D. Ramon Espinosa,
the course takes place in the middle of pines, of oaks and more
than hundred olive trees. Two artificial lakes add to the unique
charm of this golf course. The club offers at disposal its services
of which its golf school which possesses an international reputation,
a training ground, pro shop, club house equipped with wardrobes,
showers, restaurant and snack bar.
Belonging
to the prestigious Bonmont network renowned for its exceptional
environments, the course was drawn by Robert Trent Jones, jr.
and inaugurated in 1990. Considered as one of the best in Spain,
it takes place on a magnificent wave-like ground, among hills
covered with a beautiful typically Mediterranean vegetation. It
offers magnificent points of view, notably on the sea which we
sometimes perceive. The club proposes a complete range of services
among which a golf school, a shop, the rent of material, bar,
restaurant, lecture halls, swimming pools, squash, tennis …
A hotel is at disposal, neighboring to the golf course.
The
club is situated in St. Cristina d' Aro ( Girona),
at only 4 km from the beaches of Aro and Saint Feliu de Guixols,
in the heart of a generous and varied Mediterranean vegetation.
Built in 1968, the golf course was drawn by Hamilton Stutt and
CO. It offers the first 9 technical holes surrounded by pines
and oaks, followed by 9 holes which take place on a flat ground
with wide fairways. Next to the course is the club house which
is authentic Catalonia farm of 1841, the restaurant of which offers
a magnificent sight on the 18th hole. A complete range of services
is also at disposal. The club is private but proposes green fees
all year round.
PGA golf of Catalunya,
drawn by Angel Gallardo and Neil Coles, opened in June, 1999.
Proposing a round rather technical, it is nevertheless meant for
every player, amateur or professional. One of its characteristics
is its arrangement, because it is situated on a very woody and
irregular area. Another advantage: the climate, very sweet, which
allows to play all year round.
Created
in 1954 by the architects J. Arana and D. Thomas, the club was
transferred in Terrassa, in the suburbs of Barcelona. It actually
proposes 36 holes of which a new 18 holes created by Creg Norman.
Both courses which take place in a magnificent environment, possess
flat fairways and difficult greens. The Yellow course is the most
flat of both, also the poorest in trees. It contains nevertheless
numerous holes where the water comes into play, what adds to its
difficulty. The Green course is easier and more attractive because
it contains more trees. The club offers at disposal a complete
range of services of which a snack bar and restaurant, swimming
pool, sauna, Turkish bath, day nursery.
The Emporda Golf Club consists
of three various courses 9 holes: green, Blue or gold. Each three
can be independently played or in combination with one of two
others, forming one 18 holes.

The Golf
proposes very calm and comfortable apartments, in a prestigious
environment near the coast and in front of a magnificent sight.
Apartments possess, at choice, 1, 2, 3 or 4 rooms with a wide
balcony. They are completely equipped: heater in winter, air-conditioning,
electric devices phone, refrigerator, dishwasher, washing machine,
cooker. They can be rented for the weekend, the week, the month
or for long periods.
What you can say about the course
of Pals is as high as its reputation. Situated among pines, in
a context of tranquillity, with a regular arrangement and a certain
flexibility with the tees, it is above all a very attractive course
at all the levels. The ground, which is sandy, sucks up very quickly
the rain, what makes it as comfortable as a carpet. The design
(conceived by Frederic Hawtree) which is rather classic, makes
bunkers enter in to the game to defend the greens and also the
uses of trees. The forest does not only contents itself of being,
what asks for a good drive to go out of it, but pines also make
fairways sometimes hardly accessible, especially since branches
have the annoying tendency to retain the balls. 
The Peralada Golf Club extends
over a 140 hectare property, in center of Emporda, at 10 minutes
from the sea and the French border, and at the 1 hour from Barcelona.
The 18 hole course is accessible for everybody, whether it is
a novice player who learns golf, amateur golfers who wishes to
improve, or still the experimented golfers who look for new challenges.
Hotel Golf Peralada****
The Peralada Residential Golf
Club proposes a residence compound by a set of 63 high-quality
flats, as well as 228 grounds intended for the construction. Completely
integrated into the golf, the residence is protected by a fence
and benefits from a professional security service available 24/24.
It possesses wide streets and spacious pavements. Houses, which
rise on vast grounds, are of the old " masias " style
of Emporda.
Built
in 1914, it is the most former golf club of Catalonia. It was
moreover built by English workers who were used for the construction
of the Barcelona railway line - Sant Cugat. Because of its history,
each hole possesses a name bound to the British tradition. The
course, which takes place on a magnificent ground, offers magnificent
greens and very well maintained fairways,. It is rather difficult,
but remains however accessible to any level players, even novice
ones. The club offers its services among which a training area,
a restaurant and a bar.
This 18 hole course, which was
designed by Ramon Espinosa, is between the cities of Pals and
Torroella de Montgri, at approximately 2 km from the Mediterranean
coast. With the Pals Golf and the Empordà Golf Club, they
form the Golf Golden Triangle of Costa Brava. Surrounded by magnificent
landscapes, it gathers the best conditions to practise golf under
the so pleasant Mediterranean Sea climate. It possesses three
different zones consisted of sweet sloping hills, pine forests
and fairways twisting between lakes.
The shop, very
complete, proposes big brands golf material, as well as clothes
or indispensable accessories.
Situated
in Sitges, at 37 km from Barcelona, Terramar is one of the richest
clubs for its history and tradition in Spain. Inaugurated in 1922,
it had numerous renovations which brought it to become a club
where it is possible to practise golf, tennis and to take advantage
of its numerous services. The golf course is not very difficult.
Neither too short nor too long, it has for vocation to be above
all pleasant to play. It contains few limits but trees which line
fairways which can be an obstacle to the ball. Holes are long
and sometimes difficult to approach, what asks for strategy and
caution. Four small lakes come into play on the last 9 holes,
what adds challenge to the course.
Green
fees:
Torremirona is situated
at approximately 35 minutes from Perpignan. The purpose of this
Resort is to reflect another way of life by offering a new place
and the good being with no equivalent. The domain contains a 122
hectare ground, ordered by professionals possessing a 25 year
experience in residential structure.
The golf course was referenced high-level
course by the Catalan Golf Union, and the Torremirona Club is
member of the association of golfs of Girona. The Club also welcomed
the Pre-qualifications of the European Tour in 1994 and the European
Championship Senior in June, 2001.
