Presenting Marbella
Situated
quite close to the beach of Cadiz and offering spectacular points
of view, this golf course in a style of a Links possesses a typically
Scottish design. It is moreover of that kind the first one in
Spain and for that reason it really distinguishes itself from
the other golf courses of the region. Pleasant to play, by clear
time it ables us to catch a glimpse of the Strait of Gibraltar
and far off Africa. Its peculiarity remains in the natural dunes
which surround holes and the omnipresence of the sea. Respecting
the natural ability of the ground and offering a high-quality
golf, the golf welcomed numerous tournaments of which the Junior
Ryder Cup in 1997. The club offers a complete range of services.
The
club is situated in Alhaurín El Grande, just behind the
Mijas mountains. The course, which is new, was drawn by Severiano
Ballesteros. Its green fairways take place along the hilly relief,
in the middle of a luxuriant vegetation, what makes it an attractive
golf course. Its main characteristic is in its design of a mountainous
type which marries the natural forms of the environment. It possesses
narrow fairways as well as a good number of bunkers and water
traps, what makes it a good test. The club proposes a complete
range of services of which a hotel situated on the site.
The
golf course of Almenara is situated on the residential zone of
Sotogrande, on the banks of the Mediterranean Sea in front of
magnificent points of view. It is composed by a set of 27 holes
drawn by Dave Thomas. With wave-like fairways and deep bunkers,
the plan establishes a real challenge and addresses to good level
players. It is moreover about a subtle golf course which asks
for reflection and acuteness. Its peculiarity remains in the presence
of water which is almost everywhere and makes it the fact that
it divides itself in three very different rounds. The first part
takes place on a woody zone, what is a characteristic of Sotogrande.
The second twists on a more opened zone which includes a spectacular
lake. The third presents very impressive departures and also takes
place among a series of big lakes. The club offers a complete
range of services among which restaurant, bar, cafeteria, gym,
sauna.
The
golf course is situated at less than an hour from the international
airport of Malaga as well as from Gibraltar and at only 10 minutes
from Marbella. It is the first golf course to have been drawn
by Severiano Ballesteros. It takes place among the mountains of
the Sierra de Ronda where at the same moment the hilly relief
gives him a beautiful and original plan. As the architect said
it himself, Los Arqueros is a quality golf course which addresses
to a wide public of golfers. Indeed its challenge establishes
a good test for professionals while being accessible to players
of an average level. The club offers a complete range of services
among which restaurant, bar, cafeteria, gym, sauna, tennis.
The
club proposes two magnificent golf courses 18 holes. As its name
indicates it the first one, the Old Course, is
the oldest one. Inaugurated in 1968 it offers a game which is
fun rather than difficult, with fast greens and magnificent points
of view. The second course, the New Course, was
inaugurated in 1992. Close to the first one, it is however turned
in front of the mountains. Its strategic position offers spectacular
panoramic points of view. It is a golf course which addresses
to players of any level. It is moreover a part of the most popular
golf courses of Costa del Sol. The club offers at disposal one
of the biggest training centers in Spain with classes proposed
in different languages. The club is a part of a complex which
includes a hotel and a big number of leisure and sports activities.
Situated
at the sea border, between Estepona and Marbella, this luxury
hotel offers at disposal 501 rooms and 33 completely equipped
suites. Activities, services: 1 convention centre with 15 conference
halls, 6 restaurants, 6 swimming pools, 9 tennis courts, 1 sports
center, 1 water sport center …
This course, drawn by Robert Trent
Jones, is a picturesque charm course, with its numerous waterplans,
its high greens and its bunkers which it is necessary to distrust.
It contains 10 artificial lakes. It is famous for its big variety
of trees and shrubs coming from several continents.
A new surprising course, situated
among pines on the hills which overhang Marbella and the Cabopino
Marina. Considered as being a course on which we have to "
use all the clubs from the trolley ", it offers a big challenge
to players with a high handicap.
The
resort proposes two golf courses 18 holes drawn by the North American
architect Cabell B. Robinson. The first one, The Cala North, is
a requiring course from the fact that it possesses strongly windy
zones. It presents varied and often difficult approach holes.
The presence of a lake comes to complicate the game. Twisting
on a hilly ground, on the other hand it offers by places magnificent
points of view. The second golf course, The South Course, is also
spectacular. It presents also very varied holes among which two
which possess water traps.
La
Cañada is the first public golf course of Costa del Sol.
It is situated on the heights of Guadiaro, in a region where proportionally
is the higher number of amateur golfers in Spain. The 9 additional
holes of the golf course which establish the first part were drawn
by Dave Thomas whereas the second part consists in 9 original
holes which were drawn by Robert Trent Jones. The golf course
takes place on a not flat ground but with flat slopes and offers
a pleasant and varied round with magnificent points of view. The
main interest remains in the greens which are maintained in excellent
conditions and the trees which are numerous. If the game is strategic
and requires the use of all clubs, nevertheless it remains accessible
to all players. At disposal: driving range, restaurant bar cafeteria,
golf lessons, shop, rent of material.
