Le
Golf du Domaine Impérial
Drawn
by Pete Dye and inaugurated in 1988 on a long drive of Severiano
Ballesteros, the Imperial Domain became an inescapable golf course.
It is situated on an exceptional site, in border of the Geneva
Lake, with beautiful points of view on the Jura and on the Alps.
Due to its configuration, we can say that it is the most American
golf course of Switzerland. We have to recognize that his architect,
who appears among the most prestigious, knew how to admirably
benefit from the ground, which at first lent itself to the conception
of a beautiful 18 hole, and in spite of the difficulties bound
to the contestings of the ecologists. Strikingly conceived, with
well drawn fairways, varied obstacles and deep bunkers, it presents
a permanent challenge, without being physically hard. Magnificent
house, tastefully renewed and fitted out, the club house is the
old house of Prince Jerome Napoleon. The club house offers at
disposal its luxurious organizations as well as his magnificent
restaurant. Also at disposal: a pro shop, a practice as well as
classes proposed by the team of pros.

The week only: starting at CHF 150

Golf
Club de Genève
Drawn
by Robert Trent Jones, the golf course of "Cologny"
is one of the most interesting golfs in Switzerland, and the club
one of the most prestigious. Conceived with an imaginative and
splendidly strategic plan, the golf course has the supplementary
advantage to be situated on a magnificent site, which overhangs
the Geneva Lake. Even if he can seem difficult for the little
experimented players, nevertheless it adapts itself to all the
levels of the game, thanks to the multiplicity of the departures
and the flags positions.

Golf
& Country Club Wallenried
The
golf of Wallenried was created in 1993 on a old agricultural domain
of 42 hectares. The ground was fitted out in order to be able
to welcome golfers from Switzerland and even from foreign countries.
The old farm shelters at the moment a restaurant. The barn and
the stables were transformed into a training room. A nursery school
and a shop are also at disposal in the domain.

Golf Club de Lausanne
The
golf course was created in 1931 by Narbel, on a very wooded site.
Greens were remodelled by Jeremy Pern who made it look younger
in a spectacular way and obliges to think more the game. If it
looks calm at first sight, we fast realize that it really hides
a good many of difficulties showing bit by bit, the essentially
fact that it is often narrow and rather hilly. Really improved
by the arrangements which were brought, very pleasant to play
in summer, we can say about this golf course that it is a success.

Golf Club Gstaad-Saanenland
The golf course 18 hole 70-Par of
Gstaad is one of the most beautiful of the Alps. Rather hilly,
the course asks for technique and thus to prepare well its game.
It offers at the same time a great quality golfic challenge and
magnificent points of view on the mountains. For persons who wish
to benefit from a training in this exceptional enviroment, a pro
is at disposal for classes. A rent service for trolleys (electric
or not) is also at disposal, what can turn out very useful on
a golf course situated in the mountain …

Le Golf Club de Lugano
Created in 1925, the golf course of
Lugano was redrawn by Donald Harradine and recently by Cabell
Robinson who added several lakes in the existing river but was
not able to extend the course because of the lack of space.
Most of the greens were remodelled and are at present well kept.
As an honest golf course, we understand it rather quickly. The
vegetation presents in the ground reduces the impression of made
uneven between holes suggested by the arrangement and forces those
who like to hit the ball far to moderate and to work their blow
to reach the greens. Situated in a pleasant region, the golf course
remains accessible to every player and allows to spend a good
moment.

Golf course 18 holes starting at CHF 85.

Golf Sempachersee
The
site is flat, but offers an impressive sight on Sempachersee,
at approximately 1 km from the famous battlefield. Bataille is
moreover the watchword if we intend to attack the golf course.
Indeed we should rather prepare well its game because if the golf
course remains accessible, he can have us by surprise. The ground
is pleasantly opened, but trees still need to grow a little before
Sempachersee can show its real identity.

Golf course 18 holes starting at CHF 80.

Golf & Country Club Blumisberg
With
the Jura mountains on one side and the Alps on the other one,
the golf course of Blumisberg is rather mountainous and afforested.
We can however cross it easily by foot, if we opt for an 18. Although
some holes ask for a tactical approach, altogether they remain
clear and accessible. Traps are deliberately visible, bunkers
placed on the green sides remain basic. Greens are rather wide,
sloping and well defended. Golfers can play at a good rhythm and
the lengthes of the golf course are consequent enough to be convenient
for any level player.

Golf Club Montreux

Situated in an exceptional frame, offering a panoramic
sight on the Alps as most of Swiss golfs, this golf course has
the only peculiarity to be accessible to big majority of players,
without great originality. It does not possess water obstacles,
the main challenge which it offers consists in avoiding the trees.
It is necessary to indicate however that greens are in better
shape than previously. The golf course has the advantage to allow
players of different levels to play together and to spend a good
moment. At disposal: Pro shop, covered practice and on herb, putting
and pitching greens.

Golf course 18 holes starting at 80 CHF.

Engadin Golf
Created
more than a century ago, this golf course was remodelled, essentially
by Mario Verdieri. It however kept a British style, what creates
a contrast with the magnificent environment of the snowy mountains.
Some lakes and rivers form the main traps, but they do not concern
the good players who can be rather delighted by the presence of
the numerous hundred-years-old trees, who were never so much in
the game. It is a very pleasant natural golf course which could
be even more pleasant if certain greens were redrawn and if new
traps were created to defend them better. Anyways it was created
more for the "fun" than for the challange.

Golf course 18 holes starting at 90 CHF.

Golf les Bois
Situated
in the heart of the region of the Frank Mountains, the golf of
des Bois is a typical golf course of the Swiss Jura. The ground,
slightly bumped, proposes at the same time holes in forest and
opened holes, what makes it a harmonious and well-balanced golf
course. The obstacles are not always visible, what asks to prepare
its game before playing the first times. Fortunately, the course
is frank, such as we can guess it. On the other hand the difficulty
is at the level of the greens which are far from being easy to
read. Altogether, it is a golf of good level and accessible to
all players. At disposal: Pro shop, practice covered and on herb
(in the beautiful season), putting and pitching greens.

Golf de Zumikon
The
first nine holes are arranged on a flat but very long ground.
On the other hand, the last nine holes are much more hilly with
a dangerous number of hillsides going in all directions, what
often raises to be a problem to senior players. On the other hand
the ground is shorter this time. The traps are well situated and
annoy the good players, more than the others. Zumikon constitutes
a very honorable test of golf, we can however blame him for missing
a little of originality. However we never get borred there and
golfers of any level will appreciate it.
